TS5 - Low Fertility Soil

TS5 - Low Fertility Soil

TS5 is the name we give to our blended Low Fertility soil.

The planting of wildflower species has gained popularity over the past few years, in part due to the huge wildflower areas of the Olympic Park (pictured above) to which we supplied a quantity of our Low Fertility soil. They have fantastic variety and colour and help to support biodiversity by attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

Wildflowers will not just grow anywhere and most do not flourish if they are forced to compete with pernicious weeds or vigorous grasses. Low levels of NPK are required to keep the other plants at bay, but enough organic matter to support the growth of the flowers.

Our Low Fertility soil is tested every year against the BS3882:2015 specification, to ensure the parameters are consistent (see the latest analysis in the Technical Data section on the left of the page). We use a sterlised clay loam for our wildflower topsoil to ensure there are no weed seeds present at the time of blending. We include a test for the presence of weed seeds test in our testing schedule.

Having our own fleet of tippers, grabs and hiab offload facilities allows us the flexibility and reliability to deliver any quantity to you on time with minimal fuss. Plus our drivers have extensive experience of delivering into some very demanding areas, like central London (our entire fleet has been passed by TFL on their FORS scheme).
