Specific Purpose Soils

Specific Purpose Soils

Whilst our TS1, TS2 and TS6 are the most common and regularly supplied soils, we can produce and blend topsoil to meet the majority  of site specifications.

These are some of the soils that we have produced for recent projects:

  • BS3882:2015 Ericaceous Topsoil – When acid soil is required we use a blend of acid single source topsoil, acid sand and peat to create a material with a pH between 3.5-5.5
  • Aquatic Topsoil – Specified and delivered into the Wetlands area of the Olympic Park (see image above), this material is a heavier loam, with a low organic matter content to discourage algae growth
  • High Permeability Turf soil – Supplied into the QEOP Olympic regeneration project in 2012/2013, this material is more similar to a rootzone than a topsoil, with a high sand content to encourage a faster rate of water permeation.
  • Horticultural Soil Blends - Using our TS1 Topsoil, we're able to produce various blends using our stock of composts, peats and horticultural grits suitable for veg gardens, allotments and growers.
  • John Innes - we're able to offer John Innes No1, No2 and No3 in bulk loose loads by the m³, in 1m³ bulk bags or in smaller 20lt bags

These soils represent a few of our topsoil variations, but with our various blending plants we can work to any specification your project demands. This flexible approach allows us to satisfy numerous soils for a single project, giving our customers a single point of contact for purchasing.
