Bioretention Soil

Bioretention Soil

Following the increase in demand for site specific and bespoke soil mixes, we have developed a Bioretention soil to satisfy the increase in demand for SuDS schemes in predominantly Urban planting environments.

Bioretention features are becoming more and more relevant and specified due to the increasing importance being placed on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).

A bioretention system is most commonly found in high density urban areas, around car parks, traffic islands and within small pockets in residential areas. The principle behind the Bioretention system is to control rain fall flow and help prevent surface drains from overflowing, aswell as creating a medium which acts as a filtration mechanism to remove pollutants such as copper, lead, zinc etc. Other advantgaes of bioretention systems are the creation of micro-habitats, imporved aesthetics and the flexibility to be incorpoared into the majority of planting schemes.

Our Bioretention soil is a free draining, porous, sand based topsoil blend that allows water to pass freely through it, whilst creating an environment (through the addition of a PAS100 compost) to trap a certain percentage of run-off pollutants.

We have supplied this material accross numerous projects in London and further afield over the past two years and can blend to your particular site requirements.

Having our own fleet of tippers, grabs and hiab offload facilities allows us the flexibility and reliability to deliver any quantity to you on time with minimal fuss. Plus our drivers have extensive experience of delivering into some very demanding areas, like central London (our entire fleet has been passed by TFL on their FORS scheme).
